- John Milsted, III, was born during 1798 at Ospringe. He was the first child of John Milsted and Mary Nutt, yet very little is known of this individual. Although the evidence would suggest that this is the individual who married Sarah Barrus at Luddenham during 1820 I have my doubts. Rather, based on the 1841 census, which unfortunately does not record relationships of the inhabitants of a house to the head of the house, I tend to think that the John here may in fact have been the John who had married Mary Nutt, this being the second marriage for him. John and Sarah settled at Luddenham long enough to have three children: Mary Ann in 1821; John Samuel in 1823 and Susannah in 1826. All traces of Milsteads disappear from Luddenham after 1826.
