In the name of God Amen. This twenty fifth day of May 1619 and in the eighteenth year of the reign of the Sovereign Lord King James of England, France and Ireland, and of Scotland the ---
I, ROBERT MILSTED, of Bethersden, in the County of Kent, yeoman, being of good and sound mind and memory though sick of body, I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, vizt:
Firstly, I commend my soul into the hands of God my maker and my body to be buried in the church yard of Bethersden aforenamed and I give to the poor of the parish 30 shillings.
Item, I make and ordain Mr. Edward Chute of the parish of Bethersden, Gent., my full and whole -------- of all my goods and chattels, lands and tenements and to ---------- this my last Will and Testament.
Item, I give my Executor Edward Chute, 20 shillings.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my sister, ELIZABETH HOPPER, wife of WILLIAM HOPPER, of Woodchurch ------- shillings a year for and during her natural life and no longer to be ------ and come unto of the messuage and land ------ in Bethersden.
Item, I give to my sister, MARTHA STAYLE, widow, the sum of ----- shillings yearly for and during her natural life and no longer.
Item, I give and bequeath to my sister, DAMARIUS STONSTREETE, the wife of REUBEN STONSTREETE, of the parish of Bethersden 10 shillings a year for and during her natural life and after the decease of my sister DAMARIUS to Mr. Edward and Philip Chute my Executor’s two sons, for ever.
And after the decease of my mother MARTHA DOWDE, widow, I give unto my sisters, ELIZABETH HOPPER and MARTHA STAYLE, and DAMARIUS STONSTREETE 10 -------- a year more for long as they shall live.
Item, I give and bequeath to all and every one of my said children --------- 12 ---------- a year to be paid within one year after my decease.
Item, I give to my two sisters, MARY TILBY wife of THOMAS TYLBYE of Lenham and unto ANNE DOWDE of this parish, spinster, forty shillings a year to be paid within one year after my decease.
Item, I give unto Mr. Edward Chute, son of Mr. Edward Chute of Bethersden, Esquire, my Executor, of Bethersden aforesaid, all my goods and chattels, lands and tenements, my debts being paid of moral right ------ equally to be divided between them two.
And further after my mother’s decease, I give all that land and lands and tenements which of right shall fall unto me the said ROBERT MILSTED ------------ for ever.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I the said ROBERT MILLSTED have to this present Will and last Testament of mine set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
