IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I, HAMMON RUCKE of Selling, in the County of Kent, yeoman, being sick and weak in body but of perfect memory (thanks be to God) do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following,
Inprimis I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me trusting to be saved by the merits of Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried in the churchyard of Selling aforesaid by mine Executor hereafter named.
Item I give to JOYCE my loving wife the sum of two pounds per annum to be paid to her during her natural life by my Executor hereafter named.
Item, I give unto my daughter BRIDGET the wife of WILLIAM TYLER the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to her within three years after my decease.
Item, I give unto MAARGARET SNOTH, HENRY SNOTH, BARBARA SNOTH and MARY SNOTH four children of my daughter ANNE SNOTH wife of THOMAS SNOTH now living to each of them the sum of five pounds to be paid unto them six years after my decease.
Item, I give unto ELIZABETH RUCKE the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to her two years after my decease.
Item I give unto BARBARA RUCKE the sum of thirty pounds to be paid to her two years after my decease.
Item, I give and beqaueath unto my son WILLIAM RUCKE my house, messuage and tenement wherein I now dwell with all the ouhouses and buildings thereunto belonging and also all my lands of what nature soever they be situate lying and being in Selling aforesaid or Sheldwich or elsewhere in the County of Kent, except Hunts Dane before given and bequeathed unto BARBARA RUCKE and to her heirs forever. And my further will and meaning is that all my debts and legacies by me given and bequeathed as aforesaid shall be paid by my said son WILLIAM RUCKE at their several times and ages by me appointed. And in case that any of my debts or legacies should not be discharged by him the said WILLIAM as aforesaid according to my true meaning that then I do appoint that my lands aforesaid should be sold for the full discharge of the same.
Item, I make, ordain, constitute and appoint my son WILLIAM RUCKE, Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and seal dated the three and twentieth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred seventy and two 1672.
