Prerogative Court of Canterbury, Will of Benjamin Ruck, of Maidstone, 5 May 1803
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me, BENJAMIN RUCK, of Maidstone, in the County of Kent, bricklayer.
I nominate, constitute and appoint my dear wife, HANNAH RUCK and JOHN HOLLOWAY, of Maidstone aforesaid, fruiterer, Executrix and Executor of this my Will jointly
And I direct that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be in the first place paid and satisfied by my said Executrix and Executor from and out of my personal estate.
And as to, for and concerning all my real estate of which I shall die seized or entitled to at the time of my decease in possession, reversion, remainder or expectancy or otherwise howsoever or of which any person or persons shall be seized in trust for me at the time of my decease, I give and devise the same unto my said wife to hold unto and to the use of her my said wife, her heirs and assigns forever
And as to all the rest and residue of my personal estate of what nature or kind soever or wheresoever of which I shall die possessed or entitled to at the time of my decease, in possession, reversion, remainder or expectancy, after payment of my said debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, I give and bequeath the same to my said wife to and for her own use and benefit absolutely.
And I do hereby revoke, annul and make void all and every former and other Will and Wills or Testamentary disposition by me at any time heretofore made and do publish and declare this only as and for my last Will and Testament.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereto set and affixed my hand and seal this fifth  day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three .

THIS WILL was proved at London the tenth  day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four  before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne, Knight, doctor of laws, master keeper or commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, lawfully constituted by the oath of HANNAH RUCK, widow, the relict of the deceased and one of the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, she having been first sworn by commission duly to administer, power reserved of making the like grant to JOHN HOLLOWAY, the other Executor named in the said Will when he shall apply for the same.
