IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord God a thousand five hundred and threescore and in the third year of the reign of our sovereign Lady Elizabeth by the grace of God of England, France and Ireland, Queen, defender of the faith, etc., I, ROSE STYCKARD, widow, of the parish of Bethersden, whole of mind and in good and perfect memory thanks be unto God, do ordain and make this my present Testament and last Will in manner and form following,
First, I bequeath my sould to Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Bethersden aforesaid.
First my will is that JOHN HOLLNAST the younger, of Bethersden, shall have immiedately after my decease the rule and custody of my house and land with the appurtenances the which house and lands my husband willed unto me by hist last Will for the space of twenty years according to the last Will of my husband for to bring up his children sufficiently and also my will is that the said JOHN HOLLNAST shall have the rule and custody of all my household and moveable goods, corne and cattell and he to aprise it immediately after my decease by four desrete honest men and then my will is the said JOHN HOLLNEAST shall have it and he therewith to bring up my children sufficienty and he to be recompensed for his charges out of my moveables and out of the term of my house and my land,
Also my will is as my children come to their age of twenty years my will is the said JOHN HOLLNEAST shall give unto either of them their accounts of their parts as it will arise out of the term of my house and lands and of my moveable goods as it will arise beside the charges, and also my will is my daughter shall as sersorthe in the term of my house and of my lands and of the overpluss of my moveable goods as my as my sonnes,
Also my will is if any of my children fortune to die before their said age then my will is the one of them to be the others heir.
Also, I give to MARGARET PEPER my aunt five shillings, two pair of hose, a pair of sohose and a smock,
Also I give to GRASE HOLLNEAST my goddaughter two shillings,
Also, I give to ELIZABETH STYCKERD my sister in law twenty pence,
Also, I give to JOHN TURNER of Headcorn, my husband's godson, twenty pence,
Also, I give to BOWNY's wife of Smarden my husband's goddaughter, five pence,
Item, I give to SAMUEL TUSNOTHE, my husband's godson four pence,
Item, I give to ROBERT NEWMAN my husband's godson four pence,
Item, I give to KATHERN NEWMAN my goddaughter four pence,
Item, I give to my sister JULLYAN MANE twelve pence,
Item, I give to the widow of EDWARD WHATLO twelve pence
Also I do ordaine JOHN HOLLNAST the younger of Bethersden to be my Executor of this my present Testament and last Will and RICHARD TUSNOTHE to be my overseer.
