Will of Thomas Ruck, Gent., formerly of Ospringe, made 28 May 1761, proved 25 Jun, 1761.
IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I, THOMAS RUCK, of the parish of Saint Pancras in the County of Middlesex, Gentleman, being weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding praised be Almighty God for the same but calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following,
First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hoping and steadfastly believing through the merits of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to receive free pardon and remission of all my sins and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named. And as touching and concerning all such worldly estate and effects wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me after payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give, devise and bequeath as follows:
Item, all those my two parts or moietys of the messuage or tenement out buildings garden orchard lands and premises with the appurtenances situate standing lying and being in the parish of Ospringe near Faversham in the County of Kent and now in the tenure or occupation of my brother LAWRENCE RUCK or his undertenants, I give, devise and bequeath unto my faithful friend JANE ROBINSON now living with me to hold to her and her heirs and assigns forever.
Item, all that my third part or moiety of the messuage or tenement out buildings garden orchard lands and premises with the appurtenances situate lying standing and being in the parish of Preston in the said County of Kent now in the tenure or occupation of Robert Reel or his undertenants I give devise and bequeath unto the said JANE ROBINSON to hold to her and her heirs and assigns forever subject to a mortgage made by me the said THOMAS RUCK to my sister ELIZABETH for the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds and whereas I am entitled unto a moiety or share of an estate situate at Woolwich in the said County of Kent left to me by my cousin GEORGE RUCK now I hereby give, devise and bequeath the same unto my loving nephew LAWRENCE RUCK son of my brother GEORGE RUCK to hold to him his heirs and assigns forever provided he lives to attain his age of twenty-one years but in case my said nephew LAWRENCE RUCK should happen to die before he attains his said age of twenty-one years then I give, devise and bequeath the same unto the said JANE ROBINSON her heirs and assigns forever.
And all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate and effects both real and personal or of whatsoever nature or kind the same shall or may consist off or which I shall be possessed of interested in or entitled unto at the time of my decease I give, devise and bequeath unto the said JANE ROBINSON, her heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns forever.
And I hereby nominated, constitute and appoint the said JANE ROBINSON sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking, disannulling and making void all former and other Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made hereby ratifying and confirming this to be my last Will and Testament.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I the said THOMAS RUCK have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-eight day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty one.
THOMAS RUCK
Will of Thomas Ruck, Gent., formerly of Ospringe, made 28 May 1761, proved 25 Jun, 1761, page 2.
Signed, Sealed, Published and Declared by the said
THOMAS RUCK, the Testator, as and for his last Will
and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence

Thos. Chute Hayton, Clerk to the said Mr. Deschamps,
John Warson, Servant to Mr. Deschamps
THIS WILL was proved at London the twenty-fifth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty One before the Worshipful James Marriot, Doctor of Laws, Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Edward Simpson, Doctor of Laws, Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of JANE ROBINSON, widow, the sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Administration of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
Prerogative Court of Canterbury, PROB 11/866
This Will almost conclusively proves that the Thomas Ruck who marriage Elizabeth Broadbridge is not this individual.
