      IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I, EDWARD HILLS, of the Parish of Faversham, ion the County of Kent, being in good health and of sound mind and memory make this my last Will and Testament as follows:

      First, I give to my wife, JANE HILLS, the house I now live in and also the garden before and behind the said house and all the furniture of the said house and also the interest of eighty pounds for and during the time of her natural life over and above what is settled on her by our marriage articles.

      Secondly, I give my son, FRANCIS HILLS, one hundred and fifty pounds which I have in the three percent consols [consolidated] I also give him my watch and all my wearing apparel of all sorts.

      Thirdly, I give my daughter, FRANCES HARMAN, one hundred pounds which I have in the five percents and at the death of my wife, JANE HILLS, I give the aforesaid house and gardens and the eighty pounds and the furniture of the said house except what furniture my wife had when we was married to my son, FRANCIS HILLS, and to my daughter, FRANCES HARMAN, to be equally divided between them and if any one of them should die before my wife JANE HILLS and leave no heirs of their bodies then I desire that Survivor should have the whole.

      I hereby constitute and apoint my wife, JANE HILLS, and my son, FRANCIS HILLS, and my daughter, FRANCES HARMAN, joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament.

      I will that my wife bury me and pay the expence of my funeral to pay the same expense she to have the money due to me from the club and the rest of the money which I have not given away before I likewise desire my Executors to put out the eighty pounds in the best manner they can so that my wife, JANE HILLS, may have the interest of it during her life to which this my last Will and Testament I have set my hand this twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand, seven hundred and eighty eight.

      The before mentioned fourscore pounds which my wife, JANE HILLS, is to have the interest of is in the hands of the Commissioners of Faversham pavement for which I have their bond for a hundred pounds my wife, JANE HILLS, having twenty pounds with me to make it up the hundred this first day of May one thousand seven hundred and ninety one.

      THIS WILL was proved at London with a Codicil the sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one before the Worshipful George Harris, Doctor of Laws, Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne, Knight, Doctor of Laws, Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of JANE HILLS, widow, the relict, FRANCIS HILLS, the son and FRANCES HARMAN (wife of Mathew Harman) the daughter of the deceased, the Executors named in the said Willm to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
