      In the name of God, Amen, the 13th day of October in the year of our Lord 1584, I KATHERYNE WARMAN, widow of the parish of Elmsted being in good mind and perfect remembrance thanks be given to God, do ordain and make this my Testament containing my last Will in manner and form following,

      First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my creator trusting that by his mercy he will accept me among the number of them that shall be saved by the merits of the death and passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, my body to buried in the churchyard of Elmsted aforesaid.

      Item, I bequeath to the poor men's box there 10 shillings.

      Item, I give unto poor of the parish of Elmsted beside 10 shillings to be distributed unto them by mine Executor at the time of my burial according to his discretion.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter MARY 10 pounds.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my son THOMAS one block bed, one bolster, two blankets, one coverlet and 3 pair of sheets.

      Item, I bequeath to MARGARET JACOB widow one petticoat.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter JOAN 10 pounds .. shillings.

      Item, I give and bequeath also to my son THOMAS twenty pounds, which twenty pounds now remaineth in his own hands in money and my apparel.

      The residue of all my goods, money and my apparel, my debts and bequests truly contented and paid, I give and bequeath to GYLBERT my son, whom I make my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
