      IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the twentieth day of August, Anno Domini 1638, and in the fourteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles by the grace of God of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith, I, AGNES DENN of Littlebourne in the County of Kent, widow, being weak of body but of good and perfect memory, God be praised, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following:

      Imprimus, I commend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my Creator of his son Jesus Christ ..... free pardon and redemption of all my sins and I commend my body to the earth from where it was taken there - to - with in hope of ...... To eternal life and to be buried in decent manner in the church yard of Littlebourne aforesaid.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto the poor of the aforesaid parish of Littlebourne twenty shillings of lawful English money.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my son JOHN DENN ten pounds of like lawful English money.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my son JAMES DENN twenty shillings by the ..... of lawful English money to be paid by my Executor hereafter named out of my personal estate on the feast of St. Michael Church Angel and of .... the Blessed Virgin Mary equal and even portions, the first payment hereof to be made on that feast of the feast aforesaid which shall happen next after my decease.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my said son JAMES DENN my .... feather bed and my ..... bedsted, one ..... one feather ....., two blankets, one pillow ..... and two pair of sheets.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my son THOMAS DENN ten pounds of lawful English money

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter MARGARET DENN five shillings of like money.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter MARY DENN the like sum of five shillings of like money.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter MARY AUSTEN .... pounds and ten shillings of like lawful money of England.

      Item, my will and meaning is that if my son THOMAS DENN ....... then my will is that MARGARET AUSTEN, AGNES AUSTEN, and MARY AUSTEN, daughters of ..... AUSTEN shall have ten pounds which I gave my son THOMAS to be equally divided between them.

      Item, the rest of all my goods and chattels and ......... my debts discharged, I give and bequeath unto my son ………. DENN whom I do hereby ordain and make the Executor of this my Last Will and Testament declaring him to ........ in performance of ....... whereof .... And set my hand and seal this twentieth day of August 1638, sealed, and published to be the Last Will and Testament of the before named AGNES DENN this twentieth day of August 1638.
