      IN DIE NOMINE, AMEN, in the 16 day of August in the year of our Lod God 1534 I, JOHN WYBORNE, being of good whole mind and memory make this my testament in this manner following,

      First, I bequeath my soul unto Almighty God and to our Lady Saint Mary and to all the holy company of Heaven, etc, my body to be buried in the churchyard of our lady in Chilham.

      Also, I bequeath unto the high alter there for my forgotten tithes and assyngs 3 s 4 d.

      Item, I bequeath unto the light of Our Lady in the high chancel there 8 d.

      Also, I bequeath to the light of Saint John the Baptist and Saint Peter 8 d.

      Item, I bequeath unto the herse light one ewe and a lamb.

      Also, I bequeath unto the light of the high cross in the foresaid church 8 d.

      Item, I bequeath to the light of Mary Magdalene 4 d.

      Also, I bequeath to the light of Saint Margarete 4 d.

      Item, I bequeath unto the light of Saint Michael 4 d.

      Also, I bequeath unto the light of the cross of pity 4 d.

      Item, I bequeath unto a priest to sing or say a trentall of mass within a short space after my decease for my soul and all Christian souls 10 s.

      And these foresaid masses to be sung or said in the church of Chilham.

      Also, I bequeath unto the reparations of the church of Chilham foresaid 6s 8d.

      Item, I bequeath unto every one of my godchildren 4d.

      The residue of all my goods and chattels moveable and unmoveable not before bequeathed I give them and bequeath them unto ALICE my wife the which I ordain and make my sole Executrix alone and she for to do and dispose for my soul and all Christian as it shall please God and her to do also I ordain and make JOHN THROME mine overseer of this my testament that it be truly performed and done and he to have for his labour and pains 3 s 4 d.
