      IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, the first day of September in the year of our Lord God a thousand five hundred and xlith, I, ALYS WYBORNE, widow of the parish of Chilham sick in body and good in remembrance make my Testament and last Will in manner and form following,

      First, I bequeath my soul to almighty God, my body to be buried in the churchyard of Chilham.

      Item, I bequeath to the high altar there 4 d.

      Item, to the cross light there 4 d.

      Item I bequeath to Robert HOWLING my godson 4 d..

      Item I bequeath to either of my other godchildren a sheet and a platter.

      Item I bequeath to ROBERT my son my best cow.

      Item, I bequeath to JOHAN SAMON my servant 20 s.

      I will there be bestowed at my out burying 10 shillings and at my month's day 10 s. and at my year's mind ten shillings.

      The residue of all my movable goods my debts and my bequeaths contented and paid I will it be bestowed in masses and other charitable deeds within the parish of Chilham by the discretion of my Executors, whom I do make and ordain JOHN THROME and CLEMENT WYBORN and they to have for the labour 3 s. 4 d. a piece.

      THIS IS THE last Will of me the said ALYS WYBORN, widow, made the day and year abovesaid upon all my lands and tenements in the parish of Chilham or elsewhere in the County of Kent,

      First, I will that ROBERT my son shall have my tenement with the lands thereto belonging to him and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten And if it fortune the said ROBERT my son to die without heirs of his body lawfully begotten, that then I will the said tenements and lands be sold by my Executors then being alive or else by the church wardens of Chilham to the best price, And the money thereof coming half to be sung in the said church for my soul and for all Christian souls and the residue in charitable deeds where most need requireth for the health of my soul.

      Also I will that CLEMENT WYBORN shall have 2 acres of land lying at Chalte? to him forever keeping my obit in the church of Chilham by the space of 10 years for my soul and for all Christian souls to the value of 3s 4p by the year and if it fortune the said CLEMENT to be interrupted or troubled of any person or persons for the said two acres of land then I will the said CLEMENT shall have 2 acres of land lying in Pett Denne to him, his heirs and assigns forever.
