      IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, the twenty-third day of July in the year of our Lord God according to the computation of the Church of England one thousand six hundred and forty, I, SAMUELL PRESTON, the son of JOHN PRESTON, of the Town of Faversham, in the County of Kent, being of good and perfect memory for which I humbly thank my most merciful God doe make this my Will and Testament in manner and form following,

      First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of almighty God which made it assuredly of eternal salvation in and through my alone saviour Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the earth whereof it was first made to be in fit and decent sort interred and buried.

      Item, I give unto my brother JOHN PRESTON the second son of my father all my physic books presently after my decease to be delivered.

      Item, I give unto my said brothers JOHN and ROBERT PRESTON the son of my father by Joane the daughter of John Lawrence the houses left unto me by the Will of my late deceased Uncle SAMUELL PRESTON vizt. the house wherein my said Uncle Preston dwelt with the tenement wherein Goodman Buck dwelleth and the house now in the occupation of Richard Munn, their messuages or tenements situate in Court Street in Faversham aforesaid with all the malt house, edifices and buildings, outhouses, backsides, gardens, and storehouses at the key, to these messuages or tenements belonging and all the glass, wainscoules, portals, settles and benches, shelves, and painted cloathes [sic] in the said messuages or tenements or any of them being or thereunto now belonging, with all and singular the appurtenances to have and to hold to my said brothers JOHN and ROBERT PRESTON equally to be divided between them each to enjoy his part being half of the annuity of the said messuages or tenements at their several attaining to the age of one and twenty years, only I will and bequeath the profit and yearly rent of the house now in the occupation of William Buck unto my most loving and careful father (during his life) whom I institute and make my sole Executor together with forty shillings paid out of the rent of the house wherein my Uncle dwelt until such time as my brother ROBERT shall attain unto the age of twenty one years and no longer. These aforesaid messuages or tenements at the times of enjoying them before appointed and set down I bequeath to my said brothers JOHN and ROBERT and their heirs forever. And in case one die before the age of twenty-one years his right shall become the survivor's. If both my said brothers shall happen to die before either of their ages of one and twenty years or without issue of either of their bodies or disposal thereof by Will then I will and bequeath the said messuages or tenements with all the appurtenances unto my brothers MARK, THOMAS and EDWARD the younger sons of my said father by Sarah the daughter of John Knowler.

      And this I do publish and declare to be my true Will and Testament and in full uverrment? thereof I have to every side being three in number subscribed my hand the day and year first herein written in the presence of these whose names are here under written.
