Notes |
- During the period 1780 through 1793 there was property on West Street in Faversham that had been owned by Sarah King, a widow. From 1780 through 1783 that property was occupied by a William Gregory. However, commencing in 1784 that same property was occupied by Edward Gregory up until the time of his death in 1791. Thereafter, the property was occupied by "Edward Gregory's widow". I have long puzzled over the reference to William Gregory and have to wonder if the name had simply been a recording error. Edward Gregory's father was a Richard Gregory, yet, to date, no burial has been found for him in Ospringe, Preston-next-Faversham, Faversham or St. Martin, Canterbury.
