William Kennett appeared before the court during 1789 to bring his tenure of manorial holdings in good standing. He was required to pay two reliefs to the court totalling 6 pence for 4 messuages with backsides that lay on the east side of Abbey Street and late in the occupation of Thomas Stone, Richard Rose, Matthew Harman, and John Shilling and now [1789] in the occupation of Matthew Harmon, John Harman, Thomas Harris, Thomas Wilson and Stephen Admans. The property had been previously owned by Thomas Kennett, now deceased, who devised the property to his nephew, the said William Kennett. Both reliefs were paid and fealty done and William Kennett was admitted as tenant of the manor.
