At this Court came Edward Harman and Francis Hills and claimed to hold of the Lord of this manor as of the manor aforesaid, by the like services and the yearly rent of one shilling payable at the Feast aforesaid a piece of land containing in length from north to south, forty feet and in breadth, at the north end, twenty feet, and at the south end, thirty-six feet, abutting to a garden belonging to a messuage late of Thomas Argar and now of Ann Strouts south, and lying and being at a place called Noah's Ark near Conduit Row in Faversham within this manor and at the distance of twelve feet from the front of a messuage late belonging to and in the occupation of William Boorman as assignee thereof from Bartholomew Bennett, lessee of the Major, Jurats and Commonalty of the said Town of Faversham aforesaid; late the estate of Philip Woolley in right of Jane, his wife, who was devisee for life under the last Will and Testament of Edward Hills, deceased, and the said Jane Woolley having departed this life the said premises are now become vested in virtue of the same Will in the said Edward Harman and Francis Hills as tenants in tail whereby a relief of six pence became due to the said Lord which the said Edward Harman and Francis Hills now paid in Court, acknowledged the tenure, did their fealty and are admitted tenants. Note that several feet have been excluded from this copyhold grant compared to the two earlier grants.
