John appears to have gone by the name of Edward in the 1841 census and on the burial register. There is no "John Monger" buried at Faversham of the right age and no "John Monger" on the 1841 census of the right age or place of residence.

Signed by John Monger but by Elizabeth Ruck with her mark. In the presence of Mary Tritton and George Broadbridge [both signed].
