John Dodd of Wye and Elizabeth Worger of this parish were married by banns.
There was no Elizabeth Worger christened at Hinxhill. In fact, there was only one family by that surname established at Hinxhill from the time of the marriage of Robert Worger and Judith Sutton on 3 Oct 1683. There was however, a child by the name of Judith Worger that had been christened at Hinxhil to that couple, who, it was found, to never have married nor been buried at Hinxhill.

All other marriages between the years 1716 and 1725 found over the course of a 16-year search in many parishes throughout east Kent for a John Dodd to any woman have failed to produce any association with a woman named Judith. Two marriages had been strong contenders: the marriage of a Michael Dodd to a Judith at Graveney; and, the marriage of a John Dawson to a Judith Andrew at Ashford. Both marriages had occurred in the correct time span but upon close examination of birthing patterns of children it quickly became apparent that each of these couples were in fact separate from any other husband and wife. A full examination of the christening pattern of the children of John Dawson and Judith Andrew was particularly crucial because of the strong similarity of their names to John Dodd and Judith, then unknown. The christenings of the children of both John Dawson and John Dodd did eventually bisect each other clearly removing any possibility that John Dawson and his wife Judith were John Dodd and his wife Judith.

Furthermore, in this marriage John Dodd is referred to as having been of Wye which is where he himself had been baptised and where his parents and siblings had also been established. It appears that John and Judith Dodd were among the first of his immediate family to establish themselves at Ashford. The inclusion of children named Robert and Daniel amongst the children of John Dodd and Judith, also suggests that the so-called "Elizabeth" Worger was in fact Judith Worger and that this is the correct marriage. There is also an indication that Judith Worger had an uncle named Thomas Sutton who also settled at Hinxhill around the time of the marriage of Judith's mother, Judith Sutton, to her father, Robert Worger.
