  In 1795 John Ruck, father of this John Ruck, apprenticed his son to James Mann a citizen and cooper of London for a period of seven years. Marriage entry reads "John Rucke, bachelor of Throwley & Alles Miller, widow of this parish [Charing]". Retired wine merchant in 1851. On burial recorded as 79 years of age.
