      Indictment of George Roper of Maidstone, labourer, for murder.
      On 6 Aug. 1675 at a place called Gabriel's Hill in Maidstone he discharged a pistol (3s.) to frighten the horse which Anne Charlton, wife of Thomas Charlton of Maidstone, yeoman, was riding. The horse reared suddenly and she fell to the ground, receiving injuries from which she died on 9 Aug. 1675.

      Found guilty of manslaughter; allowed clergy. [m. 65]

      Indictment of John Caverly of Wrotham, labourer, for grand larceny.
      On 20 Dec. 1675 at Wrotham he stole a sorrel mare (GB5) from John Ashton. Thomas Caverly of Wrotham, labourer, is indicted as an accessory. [endorsed] John Ashton, Thomas Maynard. True bill. John found guilty; to hang. Thomas found not guilty. [m. 66]
