Boughton AluphBoughton Aluph is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of Bridge. The church is named All Saints with registers commencing 1558. Boughton Aluph, a parish in East Ashford district, Kent; adjacent to the river Stour and the Canterbury railway, 1-1/2 miles west-north-west of Wye station, and 4 north-north-east of Ashford. It contains Boughton Lees, which has a post office under Ashford. Acres, 2,418. Real property in 1860, £3,288. Population in 1861, 475. Houses, 80. The property is divided among a few. The manor belonged, in the time of King John, to Alulph [sic] de Boughton. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury. Value, £216. Patrons, the Trustees of Dr. Breton.
