SIR,

      Observing in your paper of the 27th of this Instant an Article from York, asserting the late GENERAL WOLFE to be a Native of that City, and being unwilling to sink our Claim to the Birth of so complete a Soldier, we transmit you a Copy of our Parish Register.

      Monday last the son of Mr. John LANCEFIELD, butcher, a Ramsgate, in the Isle of Thanet, Kent, was baptized at the parish church of St. Lawrence in the said Isle of Thanet, by the name of Paschal Paoli, in honour of the celebrated and famous General of that name.

      The wife of Mr. William MUMMERY, of Margate, was confined about 9 o'clock on Thursday evening, the 21st inst., of four children, ( three boys and one girl ) all born alive, but died shortly afterwards.  The mother is doing well.  She was confined on 23rd of August last of twins ( a boy and girl ) making six children born alive within seven months. - Kent Herald.
