A View of the Parish Your Online Parish Clerk for Chillenden is: VACANT. Chillenden is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of Bridge. The church is named All Saints with registers commencing 1559. Chillenden, a parish in Eastry district, Kent; 2-3/4 miles east-north-east of Adisham rail station, and 6-1/2 miles west of Deal. Post town, Goodnestone, under Sandwich. Acres, 196. Population in 1861, 127. Houses, 29. The parish gave name to a famous prior of Canterbury, who died in 1411. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury. Value, £130 with a habitable glebe house. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church belonged to the priory of Leeds; and is a very small late Norman structure, with east perpendicular windows.¹ ¹John Marius Wilson, comp. The Imperial Gazatteer of England and Wales.
